This book is designed to teach students to recognize descriptive categories and provide practice in coordinating auditory information by organizing information in categories, actions, uses and features in sentences or directions.

This is an essential language skill in developing comprehension. Two skills are coordinated. The students must remember the category information and then recognize specific characteristics within the category. Questions and directions are presented on two levels which allows the instructor to switch back and forth.

There are 25 three-page story sections. Each story has a large picture that is the student working page. The other two pages consist of questions and directions on two different levels of difficulty. With the option of two levels of questions, the professional is provided with the opportunity to switch back and forth between levels, if necessary. On both pages, the sentences and directions are to be read aloud to the students as the purpose of this unit is to provide practice for improving auditory attention, auditory processing and auditory memory. Students should not be asked to read any part of the lessons, but should only listen and follow the directions.

Each lesson is independent of the other lessons; therefore the lessons can be presented in any order.
