Lisa Dieker

Lisa Dieker, PhD is a professor and Lockheed Martin eminent scholar at the University of Central Florida, where she directs the Lockheed Martin/UCF Mathematics and Science Academy. The Academy encompasses two programs, a K-8 teacher leadership program as well as a Transition to Mathematic and Science Teaching (TMAST) program, both of which focus on teacher preparation in mathematics and science education. The TMAST program focuses on bringing in new teachers to urban middle school settings. She also coordinates the doctoral program in special education at UCF. She received her PhD from the University of Illinois. 

Dieker has received over $15 million in grant funding in her career, has published 5 books, and has made two videos on her work in teacher education. She has also written over 50 chapters and journal articles and provided over 100 keynote addresses. She is the associate editor for Teaching Exceptional Children (the journal of the Council for Exceptional Children) and past co-editor of the Journal of International Special Needs Education. She has been awarded the Children Advocacy Network Advocate of the Year award by the Council for Exceptional Children, the UCF Graduate Student Mentor of the Year award, and Eastern Illinois University Outstanding Alumni of the Year award.
