Diane Heacox

Dr. Diane Heacox is an associate professor of education at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also actively serves as a consultant and professional development trainer (in person and also through Skype and Wimba) for both public and private schools on a variety of topics related to teaching and learning. She presents regularly at numerous local, state, national, and international education conferences.

Dr. Heacox is honored to be included in the Education Hall of Fame at the University of St. Thomas for her contributions to the field of education. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and on the Minnesota Department of Education’s Gifted Education Advisory Board. She is currently the international facilitator for the Higher Education Network of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and chair of the Middle Level Division of the National Association for Gifted Children. Most recently, she was appointed to the National Advisory Panel on Formative Assessment of the Common Core State Standards.

At St. Catherine University, Dr. Heacox teaches both undergraduate and graduate education courses. She has also taught at both the elementary and secondary school levels and has served as a gifted education teacher and administrator, as well as an instructional specialist in public education. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from St. Cloud State University, her master’s in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas, and her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
