Stanislas Dehaene is one of Europe's leading neuroscientists, and has been studying how education changes our brains for over thirty years. He is the director of the Cognitive Neuroimaging Unit in Saclay, France, and the professor of experimental cognitive psychology at the College de France. He is the author of the celebrated book, Reading in the Brain. His research centres on a number of topics, including numerical cognition, the neural basis of reading and the neural correlates of consciousness. Dehaene is an associate editor of the journal Cognition, and a member of the editorial board of several other journals, including NeuroImage, PLoS Biology, Developmental Science, and Neuroscience of Consciousness.
