Sue is a published author, Early YearÕs researcher, educational consultant and trainer. She has run workshops and given presentations nationally and internationally to help practitioners introduce learning through sensory play.
In 2006 she launched multi-award winning childrenÕs play resource company Play to Z Ltd and maintains an active role as creative director. In addition to numerous articles published in the national press and Chapter 1 of International Perspectives on Early Childhood (Sage) January 2012, she has authored two books: Sensory Play, and Treasure Baskets and Beyond. These publications and her award-winning training draw heavily upon original and contemporary research.
Sue has funded and instigated numerous research projects to further our understanding of the benefits of sensory-rich play with objects. In 2009, Sue Gascoyne was named Nursery World ÔTrainer of the YearÕ for her contribution to the Early YearÕs sector. Primary School Governor and mother of two young children, much of SueÕs work is inspired by observations of her own children at play.
